Frequently Asked Questions
HOW MUCH DO YOUR CAKES COST?
Prices vary depending on size, detail, intricacy & complexity of your design. My cake and prices are determined on a cake by cake basis and really depend on the size, complexity and quantity of work involved. Please keep in mind that however small your cake project or cookie order may be, I spend the utmost attention and detail in the planning, baking and decorating of even the simplest of orders, and have never completed a project in just one day. I do have an order minimum of $75 on all cakes. Please feel free to contact me for a obligation-free quote.
YOUR CAKES LOOK GOOD, BUT DO THEY TASTE GOOD TOO?
My cakes are made using only high quality ingredients including real butter, milk, flour, sugar, eggs, etc. No frozen stuff or cake mix here! So, YES… They do taste as good as they look!
DO YOU MAKE GLUTEN-FREE OR DIETARY CAKES?
Yes, I offer a Gluten-Free and sugar free cake! Unfortunately, at this time I do not operate in a certified gluten / nut-free kitchen, so ALLERGIES BEWARE.
DO YOU DELIVER?
Yes, I deliver with a minimum $30 delivery fee. Price of delivery is based on location.
DO YOU SHIP YOUR CAKES?
Unfortunately, I do NOT ship cakes. I DO, however ship cookies!
Tastings and Ordering
HOW MUCH ARE CAKE TASTINGS, AND WHAT DO THEY ENTAIL?
I charge $15 per couple for tastings and tasting boxes t0-go, but when you book your order with me, the $15 gets applied toward your order. I recommend that you bring in any pictures, invitations, etc., that may help me come up with something perfect for your event. Tasting flavors are based on what I’m baking to order each week. *You must make an appointment.
HOW CAN I ORDER A CAKE, CUPCAKES OR COOKIES?
You may send an email to email@example.com, or message my Facebook page. I recommend you include ALL the details of your event (date, time, theme, colors, flavors, amount of servings needed, etc) in your message. If you would like a return phone call, please include your phone number. I will review your submission and get back to you with a quote within 48 hours.
DO YOU HAVE A RETAIL STORE WHERE I CAN WALK IN TO PURCHASE OR VIEW YOUR WORK?
No, I’m sorry! I operate out of a dedicated cake studio which is licensed under the Texas Cottage Food Law. However, if it’s pictures you want to see, I have almost ALL of my work featured online here on my website, as well as Facebook and Instagram, so there’s really no need to come in.
HOW EARLY SHOULD I PLACE MY ORDER?
A cake order should be placed as soon as you have the date set, then finalize all the details of your event (colors, theme, design, amount of servings, etc) as soon as you can after reserving your date. Since I usually book up months in advance, I do encourage early ordering.
Donations Request Policy
I am happy to be a SWEET part of the community! I work with Playstreet Museum, Icing Smiles, Hospice and various hospitals to donate cakes and treats. It’s my pleasure to help charitable organizations whenever I can.
Due to the overwhelming amount of donation requests I receive on a daily basis, I ask that all requests be submitted via email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include a letter explaining what charity you represent, what the order will be used for, and your non-profit tax ID number. Please understand that I am unable to fulfill ALL requests, but I do the best that I can.
Deposits Booking and Cancellations
IS A DEPOSIT REQUIRED WHEN PLACING AN ORDER?
Yes. We require a non-refundable $250 or 50% deposit to book your order. If your balance is not paid IN FULL one week prior to your event, you forfeit your deposit, and risk not being accommodated.
After we discuss the details of your event and decide on a cake that you like, if you are interested in booking and would like to proceed, I would require a non-refundable deposit to secure your date. The remaining balance must be paid in full one week prior to your event. The balance and deposit are NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE, meaning you can NOT cancel one date and then change it for another.
WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENTS DO YOU ACCEPT?
I accept PayPal, Venmo, credit cards, checks and cash.
WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?
A non-refundable deposit is due upon order placement. Balance is due in full one week prior to your event. If an order is not picked up on the day of delivery or delivery is denied, the client is still responsible for the full balance of the order. I will make every attempt to contact you in the event of a missed pickup or denied delivery. If a cancellation is made less than one week prior to your event, the balance is still due in full. *Please understand that when you book an order, I decline other orders. If you cancel, that could result in thousands of dollars lost, just to accommodate your order (obviously, whether you cancel or not).
IN THE EVENT OF CANCELLATION:
1. All requests for cancellation must be made in writing.
2. If a cancellation is received, your deposit will not be refundable.
3. If a cancellation is received less than one week prior to the promised
delivery/pickup date, the full balance is still the client’s responsibility.
